5 〔時計が正しい時刻より遅いほうに狂う〕 lose time; run slow.●この時計は後れている. This clock [watch] is slow.

・この時計は後れてばかりいる. This clock is always [always runs] slow.
・その時計は何分後れているの? How many minutes behind is that clock?
・この時計は 5 分後れているので, 正確には 7 時 13 分です. This clock is five minutes slow; the time is actually 7:13.
・時報を聞けばその時計が進んでいるか後れているかどうかわかる. You can tell whether your watch is (running) fast or slow by checking it against the time signal.
